Als sie schließlich keine Zeit mehr hat und die Bewerberin Karen einstellen will, ist ihr Vater dementsprechend enttäuscht.Emily organisiert eine Party zur Eröffnung der Firma und sieht dort endlich Rory wieder. So erfährt sie von dem Unfall, an dem ihrer Meinung nach natürlich Lorelai Schuld ist, weil sie Rory nicht von Jesse ferngehalten hat. Daraufhin entbrennt ein Streit zwischen Lorelai und Rory, die nicht mehr wie ein kleines Mädchen behandelt werden möchte. Sie klärt ihre Mutter darüber auf, dass sie an dem Unfall ebenso beteiligt war wie Jess. Genervt von Lorelais Uneinsichtigkeit fährt Rory zurück nach Stars Hollows, wo sie auf Luke trifft. Der hatte sich nach dem Streit mit Lorelai eine kleine Auszeit genommen und stimmt mit Rory völlig darin überein, dass Jess nicht alleine für den Unfall verantwortlich ist.
Richard opens a new office and Lorelai volunteers to help him get it in order and hire a secretary. Lane falls in love with a drum set at Stars Hollow's new music shop and discovers that becoming a rock drummer is her new dream in life. Rory is dismayed to discover that everyone blames Jess for the accident.

Cansada de que todo el mundo le eche la culpa a Jess del accidente, Rory dice que ella también tiene culpa, y cuando Dean regresa, ella le explica en una carta lo sucedido, aunque él no se molesta al saber que Jess no volverá más. Lane descubre que una nueva tienda de música ha abierto en Stars Hollow, y se da cuenta que quiere ser baterista. Emily le organiza a Richard una pequeña ceremonia por la inauguración de su nueva compañía, y Lorelai y su padre se amistan. Cuando Emily descubre el brazo enyesado de Rory, también culpa a Jess y a Lorelai, y Rory se vuelve a molestar y repite que ella también es culpable. Luego de varios días de haber ido a pescar, Luke vuelve al pueblo, y Rory le repite que no fue culpa de Jess.
Richard startar eget företag och tar hjälp av Lorelai, vilket för dem närmare varandra. Rory kämpar med sina känslor för Jess.
