This first episode sees Gareth arrive at Kensington Palace to meet with Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games. Gareth wants to find out more about the challenges he faces in trying to form a choir of wounded ex-service men and women. Next, he sets off around the UK to put his choir together. Many of the people he meets along the way are rebuilding their lives after injury and trauma. Gareth gets to know them, their stories, what they have overcome, and their families. For this special series, the popular choirmaster is keen to create a choir of people who have inspiring stories to tell, and this becomes the basis for his choir. Some can sing, and others need teaching, but Gareth helps them all along the way. In this episode, to inspire them, Gareth takes them to perform at a special event to mark the launch of the 2016 Invictus Games; they meet the competitors and hear their own personal stories.
