It's official: I will be racing Jon Chase from Hoonigans and his Tri-Five By Fire '55 Chevy Gasser on February 8, 2019 at the NHRA Winternationals at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Yes there will be video here, on the Hoonigans channel, and there will be an episode of Roadkill about this adventure. Right now my car is in one piece, having just returned from the SEMA show and this video details what went into fixing the car after killing the Hemi at Drag Week 2018. My plan is to address some small issues with the car and park it in the corner of the garage until we race. I've got a long list of upgrades I'd like to make but I'm just gonna leave Blasphemi alone and hope I bring enough power and reliability to win the race. What's at stake? Jon wants to bet beards. Obviously he's got more to lose than I do but what the hell, it's motivation so I'll take it. What are the rules? I don't believe there are any rules. In fact, I really don't know much about Jon's car since both he and the Hoonigan's have gone radio-silent since the initial callout. He could show up with a Top Fuel motor between the frame rails. Whatever. He's still got to get it down the track just like I do. So anyway, show up to the race and we'll see what's what.
