Carl muss aufs Finanzamt. Er gerät mit seiner Mama an den berüchtigten Steuerprüfer Simon Kincaid. Der hat den Ruf eines unerbittlichen Eintreibers. Carl gelingt es, dem eisenharten Mr. Kincaid eine Steuerrückzahlung abzuhandeln.

Eddie and his new girlfriend, Greta, dance until late at night to the music of pop stars Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers (themselves) in the Winslows' living room. When Greta returns home past her curfew, her father forbids her to go out with Eddie for a month. Eddie convinces Steve to go to Greta's house and pretend to be her new boyfriend. Once her father lets her go out with Steve, Eddie takes her away for a date. But Eddie gets a flat tire and brings Greta home late again-and this time Steve gets the blame. Meanwhile, Mother Winslow gets called for an audit by the Internal Revenue Service. When Carl accompanies her, she accidentally gets him in trouble too.

Eddie y Greta llegan tarde por la noche de una cita. El padre de Greta se enfada y les prohibe volver a salir juntos. Eddie le pide a Steve que haga de tapadera y finja ser la nueva pareja de Greta para que él pueda salir con ella. Sin embargo tienen un contratiempo y todo se complica. Mientras Mamá Winslow tiene un problema con hacienda y debe acudir a solucionarlo. Carl la acompaña y sin querer él también acaba teniendo problemas.
