Am selben Tag wie Delias Bar Mitzwah soll auch die Party ihrer schwerreichen Mitschülerin Thalia stattfinden. Thalias Mutter ist nicht bereit, das pompöse Fest zu verschieben, so dass Delias Feier zu einer traurigen Veranstaltung zu werden droht. Dr. Abbott kümmert sich derweil um die schwangere, schizophrene Kathy und ihren unheilbar kranken Mann James, und Jake entscheidet sich dazu, nach Los Angeles zurückzugehen. Wird Nina ihn begleiten?
Just out of the hospital and wanting to start his life over, Reid asks Amy out on a date. Amy talks a very reluctant Hannah into a double date with Amy's friend Nick, leaving Bright to deal with his pain and jealousy. Delia panics when her Bat Mitzvah falls on the same day as the birthday party of the most popular girl at school. Nina tries to deal with her confusing emotions over Andy and realizes she will have to make a decision when Jake asks her to move to Los Angeles with him. Harold points out to Rose that they were so caught up in the adoption procedure they've been taking each other for granted.
Reid torna dai suoi amici. Non essendoci Ephram, ancora a New York, Amy si propone di accoglierlo insieme ad Hannah e Bright, i quali faticano addirittura a restare amici. E i tre restano sorpresi quando si accorgono che Reid sembra aver superato la faccenda del suicidio troppo bene, tanto che invita Hannah, Amy, e un amico di quest'ultima, ad una serata al bowling. Nel frattempo, Delia è preoccupata perché la cerimonia del suo Bat Mitzvah coincide con la festa di compleanno della popolare Thalia. Andy e Nina si propongono di risolvere il problema, e vanno dalla madre della ragazza per parlarne, senza però ottenere ottimi risultati. Jake è preoccupato del troppo tempo che Nina sta dedicando ai Brown e ne parla con lei. Nina, seppur con qualche dubbio, comprende le sue ragioni e inizia ad allontanarsi da Andy. Più tardi, Jake la sorprende chiedendole di trasferirsi a Los Angeles. Mentre Reid ha deciso di lasciare Everwood e tornare dai genitori, Delia capisce di non voler assomigliare a Thalia, che l'ha ricattata, e continua per la sua strada.
Al salir del hospital y deseando comenzar su vida, Reid le pide una cita a Amy. Pero, Amy convence a Hanna para una doble cita con ellos. Paralelamente, Nina trata de luchar con sus confusas emociones hacia al Doctor Brown.
