Shashwat taunts Aniket and Tejal because Sanyukta had attended his wedding instead of theirs. He tells Tejal that even though she is the elder daughter-in-law Sanyukta had performed Monikangana's homecoming ritual first. He shows off the mangalsutra Sanyukta had given to Monikangana to hurt her and tells her that Sanyukta will never accept her as her daughter-in-law. Tejal believes his lies and accuses Sanyukta of pre-planning Shashwat's wedding and refuses to perform the homecoming ritual.
