Welcome to Maine and the world of dickering, where everything comes with a price tag. Using a weekly publication, Uncle Henry's, as a guide, our expert dickerers make a good enough living in swapping, buying, and selling, to enjoy life on their own terms. Tony Bennett and his partner, Codfish, turn a hefty profit on vintage auto parts and soda signs. Roland "Yummy" Raubeson and his son Mitchell tackle a bridge-building project. And Clint Rohdin and his future son-in-law Nate trade mechanical skills and hard labor for the perfect demolition derby junker. Just a normal week in Down East Maine! Vintage auto parts and soda signs are featured in the opener of this series following bargain hunters in Maine who buy, sell and trade items for profit.
These dickerers live by a book–a weekly publication in Maine that advertises OPPORTUNITY. To avoid legal hot water, Tony has to unload one of his many vehicles, but can't turn down a deal to buy another. Will he end up in the hole or ahead of the game? Yummy and son Mitchell undertake a dangerous job of removing a heavy, historic bell from a crumbling church tower. Meanwhile, tractor-loving Clint turns an old tractor to its former glory without spending a nickel.
Tony and Codfish buy a school bus from the 1960s; Mitchell must prove his skills.
Inspired by an ad in Uncle Henry's, Tony and Codfish decide to spend their week mining for gemstones, but hitting real pay-dirt is easier said than done. Meanwhile, Owen "Turtle" Mercon and his crew launch a crazy money-making scheme to create their own biker "ride-in" movie theater. All they need is a projector, a screen, and everything else. Meanwhile, Clint takes on a roofing job that promises a huge payout–if he can finish in three days. Whoever said the good life came easy?
Tony comes across an old barn in need of tearing down, but what he really wants is all the beautiful old material it's made of. Can he and Codfish do the job without destroying all the treasures inside? Meanwhile, Bruce convinces Clint to do something that goes against Clint's very nature–attending a public auction. Now it's up to Bruce to prove that these events are not only a good time, but can reap rich rewards. Over in Yummy's neck of the woods, Mitchell vows to make Yummy's upcoming birthday the best (and cast-free) celebration ever.

In Maine, Thursday is Uncle Henry's Day. Dickerers from all over the state use Uncle Henry's to buy, sell, swap and trade to support their free-wheeling lifestyles. Tony wants to serve delicious fresh lobster at his family reunion, so he and Codfish head to the shore to dicker for the Maine delicacy, and wind up hitting the high seas to earn it. Meanwhile, Clint, Nate and Bruce agree to clean up a notorious hoarder's barn, hoping the hoarder will agree to sell them some of his precious keepsakes. And a new pair of dickerers, Speedy and Tin Man, sell a brand-new customized pontoon boat–then must go on a dickering spree to earn the materials to build it.
On this particular Thursday, Tony, Codfish and Duke find themselves with real estate on the brain. They set out to get their hands on nine acres of prime land up in hippie country that they can turn around quick for a sweet chunk of change. Meanwhile, over at Yummy's place, Mitch shows up with a truckload of empty jam jars and a head full of ideas–he wants Yummy to make a massive batch of his famous jam and find a place to sell it for fun and profit. Over in his neck of the woods, Clint and his future ex-son-law Nate do some suburban lumberjacking, and as payment for their axe-wielding, they end up taking home a seen-better-days '71 MG Midget.
Tony, Codfish and Duke use their dickering skills to renovate their old hunting lodge, in order to raise the value of the property. Clint and Bruce make a bet to see who can find and fix up the coolest vintage vehicle. And Speedy and Tin Man are men on a mission to find vintage signs and other "mantiques" they can buy and re-sell to their collector pal. But will all their hunting and gathering pay off, or just empty their piggy banks?
Tony and Codfish pick up a handful of musical instruments they find advertised in Uncle Henry's and resell them to their music-shop pal Mark for a tidy profit. Meanwhile, over in Minot, Yummy's received a letter from the town council kindly requesting that he clean up the mess in his yard. Now it's up to Mitch to make his dad see the light–if they can get the garbage from the dooryard to the scrapyard, they could turn this problem into a money-making opportunity. And new team Greg and Tim Morin, Maine's resident dickering twins, prove their business savvy with a pricey purchase of three limos that ends up paying for itself in no time.
