Kogoro goes to the Nonogaki Real Estate office to visit his drinking buddy Mizusawa, who claims to have information about the cursed Tears of Borgia, but gets caught in a fire. He is taken to the hospital, where he is informed by Inspector Megure that Mizusawa died in the fire. Mizusawa loves to take photos, but there wasn't a single one remaining on his phone. Conan deduces that there was a photo on the phone that the culprit didn't want seen. The next day, Conan and Professor Agasa visit the Kanoya family mansion to view the final scene of the drama "I Killed Them" before heading to the dried up dam where the body was found.
