Lights Versuch, den FBI-Ermittler Raye durch den Vorfall mit dem Busüberfall zu töten, ist gescheitert und nun sagt ihm L, dass er ihn verdächtigt, Kira zu sein. Light erkennt, dass all seine Pläne ihn nur verdächtiger gemacht haben und versucht, die Aufmerksamkeit von sich zu lenken. Zu allem Überfluss hat Ryuk erfahren, dass Lights Vater Kommissionsleiter des Falls Kira ist und sagt ihm, dass er den Verdacht nur von sich lenken kann, wenn der dessen Namen ins Death Note schreibt.
Light (Masataka Kubota) has failed to kill FBI investigator Raye (SHOGEN) with the busjacking incident, and now L (Kento Yamazaki) is telling him that he thinks he might be Kira. Realizing that all of his plans have only served to increase suspicion targeted at him, Light is stunned into silence. On top of that, Ryuk has learned that Light's father Soichiro (Yutaka Matsushige) is the head of the Kira Countermeasures Office, and tells Light that he'll have to write his father's name in the Death Note if he wants to survive.
L vient de passer un coup de fil à Light. Celui-ci, d’abord paniqué, finit par redevenir méthodique et échafaude un plan pour reprendre la main : d’abord, éliminer les agents du FBI.

L (山崎賢人) からキラではないかと指摘されて動揺した月 (窪田正孝) だったが、自分がまだ容疑者の一人でしかないと知り、自分を尾行中のFBI捜査官を全員殺そうと決意。そんな月に、リュークは人の名前と寿命を正確に知ることができる“死神の目”を寿命の半分と交換するという取り引きを持ちかけるが、月はそれに頼らず捜査官全員の名前を知ろうと画策する。一方、赤いデスノートを手にした海砂 (佐野ひなこ) は…。
