J.R., Bobby, Christopher,and John Ross go on a hunting trip to Haleyville on the Arkansas/Louisiana border. J.R. and Bobby reminisce about old times but Lucy resents that they ignore her father Gary. Sue Ellen wants to see Cliff to get back at J.R. Casey strikes oil and shares his joy with April. In Haleyville J.R. meets a waitress called Cally Harper. Cliff wants to sell Barnes/ Wentworth to Jordan Lee. Cliff and April have a fight. J.R. promises Cally a new life. Casey tells Sly Lovegren that she'll always be just a secretary. Lucy tells Casey that she's not ready for a new relationship. Cally questions J.R. about his marriage. J.R. wants to take Cally to Southfork. J.R. is scared when Cally's brothers find him in bed with her.
Bobby et J.R. se rendent à Haleyville, dans l'Arkansas, pour une partie de chasse avec leurs fils. Carter McKay demande à son contremaître, Fred Hughes, d'engager tout le personnel nécessaire à ses projets... Casey Denault fait sa réapparition à Dallas et apprend à April qu'il a trouvé du pétrole en Oklahoma. A Haleyville, J.R. s'intéresse à une jolie serveuse, Cally, mais les frères de celle-ci se montrent forts jaloux. Cliff propose à Jordan Lee d'acheter Barnes-Wentworth et refuse d'investir avec April dans le gisement de Casey. John Ross abat un cerf à la chasse, à la grande fierté de son père. Bobby rentre à Dallas avec les garçons, mais J.R. décide de rester à Haleyville, dans l'espoir de séduire Cally. Casey rend visite à Lucy. Cette nuit-là, J.R. attendrit Cally en lui racontant que son épouse alcoolique l'a abandonné il y a longtemps, et ils se retrouvent au lit. Ils sont soudain interrompus par les frères de Cally, armés de fusils.
