To help encourage Klára to take in all that the Bohemian Forest has to offer, Lukáš arranges trips to an organic farm, an “eco cabin” near the Rabí castle, and the Pancíř mountains, before embarking on an ill-fated raft ride down the Otava river. While Klára works on her journal, Lukáš attempts to learn more about his daughter’s classmates.
With three of Klára’s best friends in tow, Lukáš heads to the medieval town of Malešov for a weekend of glamping, gastronomy, and games. Later, rather than being a sixth wheel on the girls’ trip to Kutná Hora’s Lidka Chocolate Museum, Lukáš explores the sights on his own.
Lukáš and Klára get spiritual as they travel to Peklo, which means “Hell” in Czech, but they wind up finding “heaven” in Neratov, a community run by a generous priest. Then, as Klára struggles to finish her book, Lukáš grapples with how to offer his teenage daughter sage advice – without getting in the way.
As Klára puts the finishing touches on her journal, Lukáš suggests a game of “Truth or Dare” to work out their differences – with mixed results. Meanwhile, the pair explore Cafe 8smička, the birthplace of composer Gustav Mahler, and the emotionally moving Mouth of Truth sculpture before reflecting on their relationship and recent travels.
