I'm a little late on this topic (forgive me) but ever since the Myka Stauffer and 8 Passengers controversies came out I became increasingly interested in researching family channels and family vloggers. I wanted to know what safeguards are put in place to prevent the mistreatment of children in family channels and whether or not laws like Coogan laws were present on YouTube. What I ended up finding out is pretty upsetting... so, today I wanted to analyze family channels and the harsh reality of this "family friendly" (aka advertiser friendly) content on YouTube that may not be as harmless as everyone seems to think...
