Comet (12 years old in human years) is the princess of the Harmonica Star country and was to meet the prince of the Tambourine Star country at a ball where he'd pick a bride. But he isn't there and so Comet is sent to Earth to find him. He'll be known by the starlight in his eyes. She finds the Earth and she loves the people she meets there. Meanwhile, Princess Meteor of the Castanet Star country also arrives on Earth in search of the prince. Comet's companion is a little puppy with a star at the end of his tail named Rubba Ball. Of course, Comet was not the first to visit the Earth and love it, another before her did as well and married. Her pet (a white cat with bunny ears and a tiny heart on her tail named Bunny) continued life as a kind of fairy in the forest. Comet's power is drawn from the stars of her home and is channeled through her baton; she also wears a special pendant from where Rubba Ball emerges, and with which she can detect and find the prince.
Il Sistema Nebulare Triangolare è formato da tre pianeti: Harmonica, Castanet e Tambourine, governati da altrettante famiglie reali. Per unire i regni, viene organizzata una grande festa nella quale il principe di Tambourine dovrà scegliere come sposa una delle due principesse, ma il principe scappa sulla Terra. Comet, principessa di Harmonica, decide di partire anche lei, principalmente per interesse verso il pianeta, insieme all'assistente Gommino.
ハモニカ星の王女コメットさんは、逃げ出したお見合い相手の王子さまを追いかけ地球へとやってきた。“地球はお母さまが留学していた星。きっと楽しい事や素敵な出会いがいっぱいあるはず！王子さま探しもいいけど、めいっぱい地球の暮らしを楽しまなくちゃ！”地球で最初に出会った元気な双子のお家でお世話になることになったコメットさんの前に、カスタネット星国の王女メテオさんが現れて…。さて、コメットさんは王子さまを見つけることができるのかしら…？
在三角星雲世界裏，三個地區的星國聯合舉辦了舞會，鈴鼓星國的王子被安排在舞會中選擇未來的新娘，他必須要在彗星公主或是流星公主兩人之間擇一位。不過王子決定逃離這一切，到地球流浪，兩位公主便帶她們各自的寵物，追隨王子到地球。
懂得使用星之魔法的彗星，以及她的寵物小波波到達地球後，對環境並不熟識，幸好交到好朋友雙胞胎藤吉剛和藤吉寧寧，只有四歲的兩人是計算機高手，經常幫助彗星公主。另一方面，流星以及她的寵物默克也在地球尋找王子。在地球上，彗星將會學到很多道理，並且慢慢地成長……
트라이앵글 성운을 구성하고 있는 3개의 별, 바로 하모니카/캐스터네츠/탬버린 왕국. 어느날 하모니카 왕국의 공주인 코미(코멧)와 탬버린 왕국의 왕자 플래닛간의 맞선을 위한 파티가 열리고, 코미는 얼굴도 모르는 왕자와 만나보는 것을 꺼려하는지라 어떻게든 도망갈 궁리(...)만 하고 있었다. 그러나 정작 먼저 사라진 것은 플래닛 왕자였고(…) 그가 도망친 곳이 지구(!)로 밝혀진다.
그런데 이 때까지만 해도 영 내키지 않던 코미는 지구라는 말을 듣자마자 부리나케 플라네트 왕자를 찾아 지구로 가겠다는 결심을 세운다. 예전에 지구에서 생활한 적이 있는 엄마로부터 지구에 대해 많은 이야기를 들었고 평소 지구를 동경하고 있었기 때문.
그리하여 마침내 지구로 간 코메트는 우여곡절끝에 후지요시 가족의 집에 얹혀 살게 되고 여기에 자신을 일방적으로 라이벌로 생각하는 캐스터네츠 왕국의 트랄라(메테오) 공주까지 지구에 오면서 파란만장(?)한 지구생활이 시작된다.
