Alf gives Ivy a rise in gratitude for al her support. Reg introduces himself to Ivy and tells her she must be mad working for Alf. Alf accuses Reg of trying to steal his staff. Gail is alarmed to find Audrey is making plans to run off to Canada with Malcolm. Audrey then discovers that Malcolm is getting married next month to someone called Ruth. All of this causes Audrey to break down.Percy tells Emily he'll go with her to Rhos on Sea and she tells him she's going alone and Mellors goes bust owing Ingrams £50,000, which depresses Mike.
