Subsequently, Josh ends up spending his time with Geoff, a shoo-in for this year's Most Irritating Landlord Award, and a local barmaid who's convinced Josh is "on the spectrum"...the Local Weirdo/Serial Killer spectrum.

    Flat TV is a double-act sitcom where two naive flatmates battle against the mundane reality of living together by imagining their boring lives through the prism of television. Frightened of the outside world and the responsibilities it entails, Tom (an arrogant control-freak) and Naz (a testosterone-fuelled clown) envelop their boring lives with grandiose television-based imaginings. Every episode begins and ends with 'flat news', a news parody that details every minute happening occurring in the flat, presented with all the pomp and bombast one excepts from current affairs broadcasting. Naz eating some of Tom's cereal may be inconsequential to outsiders, but here it's the top story. So intimidated are they by all the administration and bureaucracy of being a grown-up, the boys pretend that the flat, and the television programs they create about it, is all there is.

Adult responsibilities weigh heavily on Nathan’s shoulders - he’s got a young son and a fractious relationship with his ex, and has resigned himself to working his way up the hard way. Jimmy, on the other hand, is always looking for short cuts and has a romanticised idea of police work, gleaned from the cop shows he’s addicted to. When a very unexpected case falls suddenly into their laps, it's the chance they've been waiting for. Their nemesis, DCI Lehane, swiftly takes the case off their hands, but not before Jimmy manages to remove a vital clue from the crime scene. It’s a chance to crack the case and make heroes of themselves. All they need to do is break rank and go undercover for just one night. But when the wheels come off their plan, they find themselves embroiled in a sprawling mystery that goes all the way to the top . The only way out, is to go in deeper.

On a whistle-stop tour, we are introduced to Su and Cha Cha, two pandas caught up in an interspecies love triangle, a dirty old wardrobe and Popcorn, an Evil henchmen’s cat with a hairball problem. Between each sketch, whilst the alien extolls the wonders of his planet, Matthew attempts to warn us of the true misery of living with an alien inside of you. Unfortunately for him, his alien companion is more than happy to give him a firm kick in the kidneys (from the inside) to keep him in check. Sketch comedy from another planet … Welcome to OtherwOrld.

Phil and Ramona aren't the only ones who are glad to have Hattie home. Childhood friend and not-so-secret admirer Vincent feared he'd lost Hattie to higher education while honorary uncle, 'Uncle' Les, sees in Hattie a potential ally in escaping the lovingly suburban clutches of their cul-de-sac. As if parental love wasn't bad enough, back at uni Hattie's former drug dealer is now threatening her best friend Sophie. It's time for Hattie to make a break for it. And if that means seducing Vincent, humouring Les, lying to Phil and matching wits with Ramona, it can't be any worse than the alternative - staying at home with the people who love you more than anyone else in the whole world.

But that’s his problem: time spent taking aim at life’s easier targets means Tim takes his eye of its bigger prizes: the job, the girl and the visa.
