Colin and Justin TV Interior Designers, famous for their lavish transformations of peoples’ homes, have taken on their biggest challenge. They have eight months to renovate a run-down Housing Estate in Glasgow, working with the small budget of the Housing Association.
Colin and Justin Interior Designers are two months into their renovation of the Estate. They are struggling with a £300 budget to create a show flat. Depressed about the appearance of the Estate they organize a huge litter pick-up and try to confront the youth of the Estate to stamp out the graffiti.
Four months in to their renovation of the Estate. Colin and Justin want to create a place for people to meet up and socialize. They set out to transform a derelict office into a cybercafé. They also come up with a bold idea for a competition which will transform every balcony on the Estate.
At the end of their time on the Estate, Colin and Justin are struggling to raise funding but they manage to transform the community hall and create a youth centre . A survey commissioned to discover whether the residents think they have made a difference reveals that some of their bold design ideas have been welcomed, but more importantly the residents are now much more proud of the Estate.
