Join Clay Newcomb and crew on his favorite hunt of the entire year - the opening of the Arkansas bear season. Clay heads to the backwoods with his family and friends to archery hunt for black bear while Clay's son ventures off on a multi-day backpack hunt to try his hand at spot and stalk hunting. It doesn't get much better than mules, friends and bear grease.
Clay travels north of the border into Manitoba, Canada to hunt black bears and big whitetail deer. Critters are on the move which leads to a lot of action, but Clay is humbled by hunting different deer so far from home. In the end, venison is on the table, and Clay sets his sights on finding a big Manitoba bear.
Going back to his old stomping grounds, Clay hunts public land in the Ozarks of Arkansas with his buddy, Rusty Johnson. There’s a good number of deer, but 70 degree temperatures make it tough to find the 140" monster that has been just out of bow range. When all is said and done, tags are notched and the freezer is stacked.
Clay Newcomb and Brent Reaves hunt the lowlands of Arkansas’s White River. Following an afternoon of chasing squirrels with Clay’s Feists, the boys introduce their host and second generation coon hunting camp owner, Randle Whitmore. Clay Newcomb ventures to southeast Alaska in search of wolves and Sitka blacktail deer with his friend and outfitter, David Benitz. Traveling aboard sea boat and skiff, Clay shadows David along his expansive traplines across the vast coastal Alaskan beaches. Along the journey, David shares his art for trapping along with his appreciation for the wolf and desire to manage them as a natural renewable resource. After discovering enough empty sets, they change their attention towards blacktail deer. But finding deer in country that's riddled with predators proves difficult. Clay Newcomb joins Brent Reaves to hunt Missouri farm country for turkeys. In the waning light of the first morning, Brent locates a roosted Tom and they get set for what should be a slam dunk. Their setup turns out too good to be true and the lucky bird flies off unscathed. After a heartbreaking morning and with afternoon hunting restrictions on the horizon, Clay and Brent spend the rest of the day reeling in a pile of blue catfish. The next morning, Clay and Brent change tactics and decide to split up. Clay gets close, but is cut off by a flock of Jakes and Brent’s luck changes with a perfect decoy setup and a tagged long beard. Revenge is a dish best served fried. Presented by Weatherby
Clay Newcomb and Brent Reaves embark on an iconic expedition down the Mississippi River. Their journey begins with a 250 mile boat ride with their custom SeaArk boat, Laura, down the very same waters explored by foundational players of American history such as Crockett, Collier, and Mark Twain. After two days, 250 miles, and downright soggy weather, Clay and Brent dry off and get down to hunting business. In the morning, the boys join friend, Lake Pickle, for a flooded timber duck hunt. But with weather less favorable for waterfowl, they switch their aim to whitetails which turns much more prosperous. Ducks, deer, hogs, and bucket list dreams all checked off the list.
