The Pacific War
The air war in the Pacific is launched commencing with a surprise attack on Pearl Harbour. This campaign saw the evolvement of carrier based aerial warfare with great battles raging between the aircraft carriers of Japan and the United States.
Aircraft Featured: Mitsubishi Zero, Betty and Type 96 Bomber, Aichi D3A Val, Douglas SBD Dauntless, B25 Mitchell, P40, Wildcat, Hellcat, Corsair and PBY Catalina.
Malgré des négociations ouvertes entre les deux pays, le Japon n'admet pas que les Etats-Unis puissent constituer un frein à sa politique expansionniste en Asie, notamment en Chine. Les Américains, déchiffrant un télégramme secret, sont au courant d'une grande opération projetée par les Japonais en Asie. Mais la surprise sera fatale : en attaquant Pearl Harbor, dans les îles Hawaii, le 7 décembre 1941, les bombardiers japonais détruisent un matériel de guerre impressionnant et toute la flotte américaine est paralysée.
