Miss Pony and Sister Lane wonder about the Ardleys' silence and what will become of Candy. When Candy learns that Mr. Cartwright wants to adopt Candy, she thinks becoming a cowgirl might fit her better than becoming an Ardley lady. Still, Candy feels it would betray the Ardleys even if she were never to return. On Mr. Cartwright's cart Candy rides the orphans to Tom's ranch after receiving an invitation from him. There she sees Alistear and Archibald again. The meeting opens a whole new venue of emotions, shared memories as well as love and sorrow. When Tom puts on a rodeo for entertainment, he inadvertently reminds Candy of Anthony's performance, as well as the accident. The barely healed wound is ripped open all over again and Candy flees, crying her heart out. Strangely enough, Albert appears and tells her that she has cried enough. It is time to choose her path in life. Candy rejoins the party and rodeo dance, while Alistear and Archibald inform her they are going to London to be educated. On the drive back, Candy ponders her options and realizes the orphans look up to her. She decides her path is Pony's Home and taking care of the orphans.
Monsieur Cartwright est devenu un ami de la maison de Pony. Il prête sa carriole pour que tous rendent visite à Tom. Il propose à Candy de l’adopter. Candy se promène avec Archibald et Alistair qui lui apprennent leur prochain départ pour l’Angleterre
Miss Pony e Suor Maria s'interrogano sul silenzio degli Andrew e su che cosa questo possa significare per il futuro di Candy. Quando la ragazza viene a sapere che il Signor Cartright vorrebbe prenderla con sé, ne rimane in un primo momento tentata; poi però si rende conto che ciò significherebbe un palese tradimento nei confronti degli Andrew.
Col carro del Signor Cartright intanto conduce gli orfani in visita al ranch di Tom che li ha invitati; nei pressi vede nuovamente Stear e Archie e per tutti e tre l'incontro è un'esplosione di forti emozioni condivise, ricordi intrisi d'amore e dolore. Quando Tom cerca di intrattenere i bambini con una gara di rodeo a Candy non può non tornar in mente Anthony.
La ferita che sembrava appena rimarginata si apre nuovamente con gran sofferenza per Candy, la quale si allontana all'interno del bosco. Qui appare Albert che le dice che ha già pianto anche troppo; è invece giunto il momento per lei di scegliere definitivamente quale destino vuole avere, quale strada nella vita abbia deciso di intraprendere.
Candy torna per la fine del rodeo e partecipa alle danze, e qui Stear ed Archie la informano che stanno per trasferirsi a Londra in collegio per studiare. Candy medita su ciò che vuol fare e realizza infine che il proprio destino è quello di prendersi cura degli orfani della casa di Pony.
Archie y Stear llegan a la casa de Tom y este también invita a Candy, ella acepta la invitación y lleva a todos los niños del hogar de Pony, pasan un día completo allí, pero ver a Tom montando un caballo le recuerda a Cndy la muerte de Anthony y empieza a llorar, en ese momento aparece Albert quien le da fuerza para seguir adelante. Stear y Archie le dicen a Candy que partirán para Londres.
