Raymond, Michael and Barry are three bachelors who share a house that Raymond inherited from a deceased relative on Dublin's Bachelor's Walk. Raymond is a film critic who is pining after his ex-girlfriend, who has returned from New York; Michael is a briefless solicitor afraid of commitment to his girlfriend; and Barry is a naive ne'er-do-well who collects his dole while managing a number od street performers. Raymond decides to find a fourth tenant to take the remaining room in the house.
