Today AD is welcomed by the multitalented couple Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman for a tour of their crafty, colorful Los Angeles home. Today AD is welcomed to Atlanta, Georgia by actor and musician Tyrese Gibson for a tour of his six-story dream mansion. Despite its grandeur, the 25,000 square foot French Chateau-style mansion radiates an inviting warmth - an effect Tyrese created with intention. “I wanted guests to feel the regal energy, the regal vibe,” says the man behind the character Roman Pearce from The Fast and the Furious. “But it’s very livable. No one comes into my house and, I’m like, I’m sorry, you can’t sit here.”
Today AD is welcomed by rapper G-Eazy for a tour of his comfortably luxurious Los Angeles home. Cozy, functional spaces flow together in “Gerryland” - his hillside home base - where a musical instrument is never far away and the walls are decorated with the artwork of friends and family. Today AD is welcomed to Nashville, Tennessee by model Taylor Hill for a tour of her rustic personal sanctuary. Three years ago, the Colorado native was considering buying her first Manhattan apartment until a fateful visit to Nashville changed her plans. Taylor settled into a stunning log cabin built in 1936 by Hart Freeland Roberts, the architecture firm responsible for renovating iconic local buildings like the Ryman Auditorium and the Parthenon. "You could tell that kids had lived here before."

Today Architectural Digest brings you to West Hollywood to tour Nina Dobrev’s stunning Spanish-style home. Dobrev, who is Bulgarian and spent some of her childhood in the south of France, leaned into her heritage when revamping the interiors with designer Charlie Barstein. While an airy sense of California cool is evident in sleek brass details and locally-sourced art and furniture, her careful preservation of the residence’s late-1920s Spanish-style architecture provides a sense of European elegance.
Today AD brings you to the lush hillside neighborhood of Los Feliz in Los Angeles to visit the enchanting home of actress Vanessa Hudgens. Hudgens spent five years searching for the right property before settling upon the Georgian colonial house she now calls home, undertaking renovations both on her own and in tandem with interior designer Jake Arnold. With her work comes many nights on the road (she stars in Lin Manuel Miranda’s upcoming directorial debut, “Tick, Tick...Boom!”) meaning Vanessa’s home has become a place to return to, renew, and reconnect. “It’s nice to know that when I get home, I’ll have a bath waiting for me. I always savor that first soak.”
Today AD brings you to sunny La Jolla, California on the coast of the Pacific Ocean to tour the art-filled, modernist home of superstar couple Alicia Keys and Kasseem Dean (a.k.a. Swizz Beatz.) A stunning cliffside mansion by architectural designer Wallace E. Cunningham, Kasseem had the multi-level "Razor House" as his phone’s screen saver for 8 years, waiting for a day when the stars would align. Once he and his Grammy-award winning wife were able to make it their own, they set out with AD100 designer Kelly Behun to craft a home they now call their literal “Dreamland.” As for the results? “When your screen saver comes to life, it’s unbelievably crazy” says Dean.
Today Architectural Digest brings you to Edmonton, Alberta in Canada to visit the welcoming, three-story home of NHL superstar Connor McDavid. Arguably the greatest current hockey player in the world, McDavid and his girlfriend Lauren Kyle partnered with Design Two Group to design and build their dream home after Connor secured a lucrative, long-term contract with the Edmonton Oilers. When it came time to review the finalized architectural plans, McDavid and Kyle decided to make one major addition: On the basement level, next to the plush lounge and bar area, they commissioned what they call “the sports court,” (a basketball half court where most afternoons you’ll find McDavid roller-blading and working on his hockey skills) as well as a home gym. “Connor being the captain [of the Oilers], we knew we were going to have to host a lot,” Kyle says. “This house feels like it’s definitely an entertainer’s home.”
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles, California by Kathy Hilton for a tour of her glittering holiday home. Anyone who’s gotten to know Hilton via her breakout turn on season 11 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills knows she’s the type to go big or go home—and with Christmas, she does both. Each room in Hilton’s home—which includes seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, multiple sitting rooms, a butler’s pantry, and an open plan specifically designed for entertaining—has a different feel to it. The name Hilton may bring visions of sugar-plum fairies dispatched from all over Beverly Hills to craft her perfect winter wonderland, but fans of the Bravo darling know better. She does employ some assistance (“I have a wonderful lady that helps me, and she has a young man that comes and helps with all the stuff that’s really high up, because that’s a little scary,” Hilton says), but every touch is purely personal.
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to the arid American Southwest by NBA all-star Devin Booker for a tour of his stylish and inviting mansion in the shadow of the Phoenix Mountains. While Booker is widely considered among the NBA’s brightest young stars, his origins tell a humbler story. “When I was a kid growing up in Michigan, I’d close my eyes before bed and imagine what my house might one day look like.” With an assist from L.A.-based AD100 firm Clements Design and in collaboration with L.A.-based Karan Brady Interiors, that dream is now a reality. With retracting walls of glass and a yard that boasts a Bali-inspired swimming pool, a firepit, and a guesthouse, the young superstar knows that wherever the rigors of an NBA season may take him, this personalized oasis will be waiting upon his return.
Today AD takes you to Manhattan’s Upper East Side to visit with the inimitable Shonda Rhimes for a tour of her posh new apartment. As the driving force behind a chain of hit series, most recently 'Bridgerton' and 'Inventing Anna', Rhimes is one of Hollywood’s most successful and inspiring creators. In designing her brand-new New York City apartment, Rhimes sought a space to write, create, and continue to build her successful Shondaland media empire - something she achieved with AD100 designer Michael S. Smith. The home is full of places where the single mother of three can decide to work (or daydream) as inspiration strikes. “I’m building an entire sort of universe in my mind, but I’m also trying to think of a series. It’s not just two hours, it’s not just 30 minutes; sometimes it’s 18 seasons. You really do need time and space to think about it.”
Today AD brings you to Burbank, CA for an all-access look inside The Try Guys’ vibrant office and studio space. Zach Kornfeld, Eugene Lee Yang, Keith Habersberger, and Ned Fulmer rose to fame making YouTube videos where they enthusiastically expand their horizons - so there’s something fitting about the quartet assuming the challenge of creating a custom office space for the first time. Loud and whimsical, the design of the Try Guys HQ makes perfect sense. In a place where the cameras are often rolling, there’s impeccable lighting and plenty of fun accent walls that can also serve as backdrops for videos. “It’s like the Wonka factory, but instead of you being able to eat everything, you can film everything,” says Zach.
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Los Angeles by Ashley Tisdale for an inside look at the stunning new home she designed for her family. Tisdale and her composer husband Christopher French moved into their current home when she was around seven months pregnant, at which point the High School Musical alum dove headfirst into decorating. The talented Tisdale was well prepared for the undertaking, considering she launched her design passion project, Frenshe Interiors, last year. “I went with the mentality of falling in love with every piece,” she says. “I fully love this house. I love every piece of everything I’ve done here, and I’m really proud of myself.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Nashville by Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves for a tour of her beautiful, serene home. Musgraves purchased the property in 2020 during a time of significant change in her life, setting out to recalibrate the entire feel both inside and out alongside interior designer Lindsay Rhodes. “I wanted a place that felt like me,” she says, “where I could express myself without having to think about another person and what they might want. This felt like a new beginning.”
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles by singer-songwriter and actress Chloë Bailey for a tour of her elegant home. Working with West Elm, Chloë designed her first adult apartment to serve as a restorative sanctuary, a place to find respite from the demands of her very busy life. As for the aesthetic her vision was simple: a zen space that felt “elegant, chic, and elevated,” a reflection of the confidence, ambition, and warmheartedness she embodies.
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles, CA by Seth Rogen for a look inside the headquarters of Houseplant, the cannabis/home goods brand he founded with business partner Evan Goldberg. Though the company also has a more run-of-the-mill office space, Houseplant mainly operates out of a 1918-built Los Angeles bungalow. ”We did not set out to base Houseplant out of a house,” the comedian says - but it makes perfect sense. “A lot of our products are home goods. We found that being able to see them in a home setting was invaluable.”
Today AD is welcomed to Southern California by creative powerhouse and Jungalow founder Justina Blakeney for a tour of her vibrant and welcoming home. The Spanish-style home and 2,700 square foot property are a slice of paradise, built in the early ’30s with traditional Mediterranean details and midcentury-modern flair. Blakeney, along with husband Jason Rosencrantz and contractors New Generation Home Improvements, tweaked the original five-bedroom layout to better suit their family's (and growing creative empire's) needs - including converting the garage into a guest room/workshop ideal for testing her new wallpapers and bedding. With every room set to evoke a different mood, it’s all hyper-eclectic. “We were really intentional about creating different spaces for the experiences that we want to have in the home."
Today Travis Barker welcomes Architectural Digest to Calabasas, California for a tour of the understated, modern home he shares with his growing family. It's been a busy spring for the perpetually in-demand musician - Barker recently produced Machine Gun Kelly’s latest album Mainstream Sellout (which hit #1 on the Billboard charts) and is currently in the studio working on his own label DTA Records, a joint venture with Elektra Music Group. When he decided it was time to refresh the feel of the home he’s owned for 15 years, his mother-in-law Kris Jenner suggested he reach out to Waldo Fernandez, a perennial fixture on the AD100. Barker admits that the restrained vibe he arrived at is a bit of a departure from some of his previous residences. “I’ve had homes with lots of flashy cars, murals, and bikes hanging from the ceiling. But with three children of my own, plus Kourtney’s kids, this place felt right for this moment in my life."
Today AD is welcomed to Toronto, Ontario by the inimitable Matty Matheson for a tour of his newly opened restaurant, Prime Seafood Palace. Not your typical lobster shack, Matty worked with architect Omar Gandhi to imbue the dining room with a stylish, timeless feel, where warm tones and sinuous furniture compliment his menu's hearty offerings.
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles by actor/director Bryce Dallas Howard and husband Seth Gabel for a tour of their new home, an "organically glamorous" space paying homage to classic Hollywood with an undercurrent of California vibes. To realize her vision, Bryce recruited family friend Claire Thomas to mastermind the decoration of the four-bedroom, two-story new-build. “We immediately knew that the core color palette for the house was going to be pink and green,” Thomas says. “I always joke that I only use redhead colors—that is, colors that redheads look great in. I’m a redhead and Bryce is a redhead so it works.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to the idyllic English countryside by actor Sienna Miller to visit the centuries-old cottage she's made her home. When she first saw the property in Buckinghamshire, England, she fell for it hard. “It was a time when there was a lot of press attention on me, and I wanted somewhere to escape.” Sienna enlisted her close friend, director Gaby Dellal, to assist in breathing new life into the 16th-century thatched-roof cottage. “The house offers a sanctuary,” says Miller. “It has a nurturing feeling; it is a home with a heart.”
Today AD is welcomed to Palm Beach, Florida by Dee & Tommy Hilfiger for a tour of their lakefront, Mediterranean-style home. A spacious 5,000 square feet, the property is resplendent with verdant gardens and white columns soaring towards arched ceilings. Built in 2006, the Hilfigers were immediately drawn to the indoor-outdoor architecture of their new home, which, modeled after many of Palm Beach’s older estates, features an interior courtyard. The couple turned to AD100 designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard to achieve their goal of infusing that open and bright feel throughout the interior, as well. "The house has a wonderful soul." says Bullard. "We just had to take away the formality and make it feel a bit younger, sexier, looser.”
Today AD is welcomed to Greenwich Village in New York by Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent for a tour of their freshly renovated family home. For those who have been following this couple and design duo extraordinaire through the years, their "new" place may look oddly familiar - they actually lived their from 2013 to 2016 before relocating west. The apartment wasn't available when they first returned to New York but when life afforded them a chance to revisit one of their relationship's foundational settings, they knew they had to act. “Conversations about having children, conversations about planning a wedding. It’s where all the dreaming began for us.”
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles by award-winning singer-songwriter and actor Demi Lovato to tour her trippy modern farmhouse. With six bedrooms and seven bathrooms spread across 8,500 square feet, the spacious Studio City property provided the blank canvas that Lovato had always dreamed about. Imbuing her new home with life alongside Argyle Design founders Kat Bell and James Drew was a process that paralleled her own personal journey. Every inch of the space embodies her personality—and the sense of fluidity that continues to shape her identity.
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Los Angeles by internet sensation Emma Chamberlain for a tour of her deeply personal new home. Designed in collaboration with Ashley Drost and Marie Trohman of Proem Studio, the house deftly mirrors its inhabitant’s chill, laid-back vibe and intriguing sensibility. “I’m a mood board type of girl. I scoured every corner on the internet, every weird, deep hole on Pinterest,” says Emma. “I find inspiration for the home everywhere, the same as fashion. It’s all one in my mind.”
Today critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Rita Ora welcomes AD to London for a tour of her extraordinary Victorian-era home. Ora finished furnishing her new home with vintage finds from London’s famous Portobello Road Market - and most of the items she’d already owned and used in previous homes. Her sister and manager, Elena Ora, is responsible for arranging the furniture collection in the home, and interior designer Joanna Plant was brought in to add “little bits and bobs” to tie everything together. As she works on her third album, Ora couldn’t be happier with the calm and grounding home base she’s created. “My exterior self is super flamboyant, colorful, and I’m really proud of the decisions I make. Internally, my interior self is the opposite. I wanted my inner self reflected in my home.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Malibu by Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo for a tour of her inviting mid-century beach house. Pompeo first went to scope out the property several years earlier, when the house was originally up for sale and Grey’s was still in its infancy. “I knew I couldn’t afford it, but I didn’t tell anyone that,” she confesses. When the house came back on the market in 2013, she seized the second chance. As her fans know, Pompeo is a bona fide interior-design enthusiast whose past renovations include a modern barn in Sag Harbor and her main residence, a 1920s Mediterranean-style villa in Los Angeles. The addition of her Malibu home has only added fuel to the fire. “I am entering a very exciting phase of my life, if I do say so myself.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Los Angeles by actor-producers Viola Davis and Julius Tennon for a tour of their tranquil, newly-renovated family home. Davis and Tennon, along with their 12-year-old daughter, Genesis, lived in their Toluca Lake home for about five years before embarking on a renovation with LA designer Michaela Cadiz. “I always want to go big and bold, but not too bold, not garish,” says Davis, the acclaimed Oscar-, Emmy-, and Tony-winning actor and founder (with Tennon) of JuVee Productions, a company that develops film, television, theater, virtual reality, and digital projects. “We were working in South Africa, shooting The Woman King, while the renovation was unfolding, and we were inspired by the incredible color and culture there.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to New York City by actor Michael Imperioli for a tour of his intricately decorated, art-filled home. Returning to the east coast as empty nesters following years in California, Michael and wife Victoria, an interior and set designer, outfitted their new home around an extensive art collection acquired mostly in antique shops over nearly three decades. The former ‘Sopranos’ star's apartment evokes a bygone age with clear Italian influences, not unlike the Sicilian palazzos in ‘The White Lotus,’ his most recent HBO starring turn. “To me this apartment is a refuge from the world,” Michael says. “It’s representative of the past. This could easily be an apartment from the Jazz Age in New York around when it actually was built a hundred years ago.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Brooklyn, New York by David Harbour and Lily Allen for a tour of their exuberant family townhouse. Working hand in hand with AD100 designer Billy Cotton and architect Ben Bischoff of MADE, Lily and David have created an exciting and singular home within their stately late-19th-century brownstone in Carroll Gardens. “Lily is someone who lives with color in a deeper way than most. Her taste is bold, silly, fun, eccentric—it’s exciting,” says the Stranger Things actor and star of the recent blood-splattered Christmas spectacular Violent Night. “I’ve always been interested in interiors, and I’ve always done my own homes. But this was a big undertaking, and I needed help.” says Allen. “Together, Billy and I tried to reach for something weird and wonderful.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed to Malibu, California by Emmy Award–winning actress Sarah Paulson for a tour of her sophisticated and cozy 500-square-foot beach home. Paulson acquired the property nearly a year into the pandemic, transforming the quaint but generic surf shack into a tailor-made retreat with the elegantly understated housewares of Nickey Kehoe. “The ocean never called to me. I’m the person who’s afraid there’s a shark in my bathtub.” says Paulson, star of the upcoming horror film Dust . "But the beach was stunning. How did I live here for so many years and not understand the beauty of the coastline?”
Today AD is welcomed to Columbus, Ohio by Debby Ryan and Josh Dun for a tour of their fascinating, ‘treehouse fantasy’ home. It might be surprising to hear of a sparkling young actor and her rocker husband setting up their first house in the “Arch City,” but Ryan and Dun relish an impulsive departure from the script. When they discovered the property and decided to make it their home, the actor and musician tapped Fawn Galli and Ashley Moyer to bring their domestic dream to life. From a basement boxing ring and a cold-plunge pool on the back porch, to a recording studio and a dramatic stone bust of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, that dream has come to full fruition. “I remember walking through the house and feeling like there was so much room to put our personalities into it,” says Dun. “Not only was this the first house that we designed together, but it was really the first time that both of us felt the freedom to put our mark on a place.”
Today AD is welcomed by Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams for a tour of their 1924 Spanish Colonial Revival home in Los Angeles. Designed by one of the lions of the golden age of California architecture, Wallace Neff, its white stucco exterior, colorfully tiled main staircase, and wrought-iron details are all calling cards of his numerous Spanish-influenced homes. The actors and homeowners—Adams is best known for his role on Suits in which he played Meghan Markle’s character’s love interest, while Bellisario starred on the popular teen drama Pretty Little Liars —fell in love with the residence while in the midst of planning their 2016 wedding and moved in right after their honeymoon, embarking on renovations a few years later with designer Rosa Beltran. “The goal was to make it feel how Neff and the team of artisans who had worked on the home in the beginning would have wanted it to feel, and also to make it really comfortable and useful for a modern-day family,” says Beltran.
Today AD is welcomed to Los Angeles by actor Karen Gillan for a look inside her cozy, pub-like home. The Dr. Who and Marvel Universe star recently moved into the traditional early-1900s cottage with her husband, comedian Nick Kocher, setting out to design their first home together. The couple enlisted Pierce & Ward, an AD100 studio known for creating lived-in spaces with an old-world feel and a dash of glamor. After tearing down a series of bland renovations and adding elegant finishes like built-in bookshelves and wainscotting, the designers got to work. “It’s exactly what I wanted,” says Gillan of her newly decorated home and its traditional two-story layout overlooking a tree-shaded backyard. “I could never live in a modern space because it would kill my energy.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by RuPaul to tour his dazzling Beverly Hills home. When the 'Drag Race' star and husband Georges LeBar acquired their home they enlisted esteemed AD100 designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard and architect Christopher Hatch McLean to help bring their 1980s palazzo to life. Together they transformed the property into an enchanting homage to Old Hollywood injecting the glamor of 1930s regency throughout. Bursting with color and pattern, RuPaul wanted the design of his home to evoke joy in those who step inside its doors - “The house is a touchstone to remind me to inspire people to feel the magic that’s seemingly so elusive these days,” RuPaul asserts. “It’s meant to be whimsical and fun. None of it is to be taken too seriously—except for love and kindness.”
Today AD is welcomed to New York City by Chloe Fineman for a look inside her Paris-inspired home. The Saturday Night Live star first fell in love with her West Village apartment when filming a job in the same building—and as if meant to be, a month later it was hers. With the help of her sister Emma and designer Tali Roth, she dove headfirst into decorating her space opting for an eclectic, feminine vibe. Chloe invites the luxurious vibes of Paris into her cozy rental through rich velvets, fine linens, and romantic colors—creating a softness that compliments the original exposed brick and crown moldings throughout. The particular charms (and constraints) of living in Manhattan aren’t lost, however: Chloe’s oven is primarily used to store wigs. “I was a cook at the beginning when I moved into this apartment. And then it got scary where I was like, I'm going to burn this apartment down. So now my oven is mostly wig storage.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by Amanda Seyfried for a tour of her peaceful home in New York City. The Crowded Room and Mamma Mia! star spends most of her time upstate at her Catskills farmhouse, but when work calls her away she needed a tranquil city base fit for her family–with the help of Sarah Zames and Colin Stief from General Assembly they aimed to bring some of those farmhouse vibes to Manhattan. Stunning original arched windows create a bright, airy space enhanced by light oak features, and Amanda’s love of antique silhouettes paired with modern pieces offers an eclectic yet zen feel, perfect for relaxing after a busy day in the city–“I’m part of the development of a Broadway show,” Amanda says “This is going to be my home for six, seven, eight months. I know this will be where I live, and I’m comfortable here. I feel really safe.”
Today AD is welcomed by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen to tour their loving family home in Beverly Hills. The superstar couple are no strangers to moving house as the chapters of their lives change, this time around wanting a magical space for their kids to grow up. John and Chrissy enlisted AD100 designer, Jake Arnold, working in tandem as he paired his signature earthy palette with their desire for bright pops of color. Together they designed an open space full of warmth with no shortage of spots for family time during their latest stage of life. “Every house we’ve ever had reflects the moment we were in in our lives, like chapters in a book,” Teigen avers. “We were attracted to this place because of its lightness and airiness. We love how open it feels, and how it’s so connected to the outdoors. We wanted to create something magical, especially for the kids,”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by Winnie Harlow to tour her glamorous Hollywood home. Having lived in rented apartments her whole life, the supermodel bought her first home in Los Angeles after relocating from New York for the heat and sunshine. This being her first home she was excited to get designing with AD100 authority Martyn Lawrence Bullard. The neutral base of the house layered with soft textures and dramatic accents come together to create a calming sanctuary for Winnie to kick back and relax. “It’s the first house I’ve ever lived in and it is a lot of work,” she says. “Nothing is ever done. There’s always something to do—something to fix or build—but I am up for it all.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by 'Pretty Little Liars' star Ashley Benson to tour her playful home in Los Angeles. Designed in 1930 by architect Arthur Kelly, Ashley's home is an Old Hollywood gem–and having had only three owners in over 90s years it's practically untouched. Inspired by her love of Europe and Nancy Meyer’s movies, Ashley enlisted interior designer Nicole Gordon, and architect John Farrace to help bring her home into the 21st century. From astronaut wallpaper to the ultimate coastal grandmother kitchen, Benson has created a playful space with something fun hidden around each corner.“I wanted to make each turn and each room—no matter the size—a unique experience.”
Today Architectural Digest is welcomed by British model, actor, and activist, Adwoa Aboah, to tour her charming London home. When the Top Boy star first viewed her Victorian-era home five years ago it was falling apart at the seams but despite this, she knew it was home. Together, architectural designer Lewis Kane and AD100 designer Beata Heuman, helped Adwoa transform the fixer-upper into a delightful space bursting with color, pattern, and profound character. Heartfelt mementos from Adwoa’s life fill the space, and with a garden landscaped by her aunt and her sister’s artwork hanging on the walls, these familial touches make her house feel like home. “Friends have said if they could imagine a house that described me, this would be it. I feel very at peace here. It is like my sanctuary.”
Today AD is welcomed by former NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony to tour his stylish new home in Westchester, New York. After closing out his two-decade-long basketball career in May, the New York native felt it was time to settle into a more spacious pad in the suburbs. Leaving the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks behind him, Anthony teamed up with interior designer Cassandre Bonhomme to create a home that matched his eclectic taste. Together, they designed a “modern vintage” interior–ornate fixtures paired with a luxe color palette and fabrics make the perfect home for Carmelo’s extensive contemporary art collection. With more space to stretch his legs and just a short drive into the city, it’s safe to say that Melo has settled nicely into his next chapter in the ’burbs. “I love land, I love space. Once you start getting out of the city and traveling and going to these other places, you realize that a 25 to 30-minute drive is not that far from the city.”
Today AD is welcomed by Jon Batiste and Suleika Jaouad to tour their beautiful home in Brooklyn, New York.
On an unassuming street, tucked in one of Los Angeles’s many canyons, sits a hidden tree house. And somewhat surprisingly, it’s owned by a cowboy who just so happens to be a consummate host. But to country music star Orville Peck, it’s just home.
Today AD is welcomed by comedy legend Kevin Hart to tour his stylish Hartbeat offices. A year ago, Hart moved his production company into a new 40,000-square-foot West Hollywood office space previously occupied by the Oprah Winfrey Network. With the help of Kai Williamson of Studio 7 Design, Hart was ready to give the office an edgier makeover, moving away from an off-white, coastal palette left behind by OWN. Together, Hart and Williamson designed a modern, open space that encourages creative thinking and collaboration through glass walls and luxe seating areas. But despite the makeover, Hart has made sure the spirit of Oprah remains, “There’s an energy in this room,” Hart says. “Every once in a while, The Oracle herself speaks to me. I’m trying to get a real mold of Oprah’s hand so I can slap Oprah five every time I leave out. The question is, How am I going to get it?”
Today AD is welcomed by Ray and Anna Romano to tour their serene desert home in La Quinta, California. The ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ star and his wife worked with AD100 powerhouse Nate Berkus to design a beautiful and comfortable home, perfect for hosting their expanding family as two of their four children prepare to get married. Moving away from the mid-century Americana styles you’d typically find around Palm Springs, Berkus took inspiration from Italian country homes, creating a more muted space with all the charm of the Italian countryside. Before letting Berkus and Anna take the reigns on design, Ray only had a few specific requests for his new desert oasis. “I wanted some kind of cozy feel to it. That’s all. I was very vague,” he says. “And I fell in love with a bunk bed room that we saw at the Ritz-Carlton in Sundance that my kids stayed in. And I said, ‘I want a room like that.’”
Today AD is welcomed by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita to tour their delightful home in Los Angeles. The Modern Family star and his husband decided to move to the leafy Encino hills of LA in a bid to create the perfect home for their evolving family life and aesthetic. Their vision was for a calm and cozy interior with plenty of space for the family to hang out. With the help of AD100’s Mandy Cheng, they turned a blank new build into a warm, inviting space full of soft colors and snug resting spots, including a king and a half sized bed. “Justin and I got the giggles one night seeing how many rolls it took to reach each other,” Ferguson recalls. “It was like three and a half!”
Today the 46th President of the United States Joseph R. Biden welcomes Architectural Digest to Washington, D.C. for a tour of the Oval Office and White House.
Today, AD is welcomed by Bryce Dallas Howard to tour her charming cottage in New York. Growing up in Connecticut and falling in love with her husband at NYU, the East Coast is full of happy memories for the 'Argylle' star, so it made perfect sense as a retreat from the LA working life. The couple had their hearts stolen by a quaint 18th-century replica cottage. Inspired by legends Jane Austen and Wes Anderson, Howard enlisted the help of designer and family friend Claire Thomas to brighten the previously dark interiors, injecting each room with vibrant colors and fabrics. But what makes the home truly special are the familial touches, from her grandmother’s extensive depression glassware collection to the piano she learned to play as a child. “In the end it became so much less about aesthetics and more about the place we spend our lives…It’s beautiful to be in a space where I’m able to dream about a future.”
Today AD is welcomed by Sofía Vergara to tour her stunning home in Los Angeles. The ‘Griselda’ star had quite a challenge on her hands when first acquiring her palatial Beverly Park mansion–according to her, it resembled a castle you might find in Transylvania. But with the expert help of interior designer, Ohara Davies-Gaetano, Vergara’s home was transformed into a Mediterranean paradise in the heart of California. Ornate European touches fill the space, from an 18th-century French limestone fireplace to baroque antiques placed beneath a 19th-century Italian chandelier. Vergara’s home truly does transport you to the luxurious rivieras of Europe and makes a perfect sanctuary to enjoy for years to come. “My friends from Colombia find any excuse to visit. There’s just something about this place that makes guests want to stay. It’s special. I still wake up every day thinking, I can’t believe this is my life.”
Today AD is welcomed by actress Maude Apatow to tour her first New York apartment. The 'Euphoria' star has always dreamed of moving to New York and doing theater, so when a chance to star off-Broadway came knocking she knew it was time to start her East Coast life. As far as first NYC apartments go, Apatow lucked out with plenty of natural light in her cozy 1-bed–a rare commodity in the Big Apple. With the help of Soho Home, Apatow has created a soft, feminine vibe accentuated by pastel pinks, boucle textures, and no shortage of cat-themed art, making it the perfect haven to relax after a big show. “If a younger version of me saw this, she would be freaking out. It’s been my dream since I was like, five.”
Today AD is welcomed by Tan and Rob France to tour their new home in Salt Lake City. Wanting a forever home for their growing family, the 'Queer Eye' star and his husband bought a plot of land and spent the next three years building their dream house from the ground up. With the help of The Fox Group, Tan and Rob built a grand Tudor-style home bringing together a blend of South Asian, English, and American interior touches. The design of their home was the project of a lifetime for the 'Next in Fashion' host, and it was Tan’s own background as a stylist and designer that helped bring the couple’s dreams to life. “I treated this house like a collection,” France says. “If you’ve ever been to a runway show, it should tell a story. I wanted the top of the house to be like the opening look of a runway, and I wanted the final look to be shocking as the showstopper.”
Today, AD is welcomed by Amber Valletta to tour her peaceful and sustainable home in Los Angeles. Alongside an illustrious modeling career, the supermodel is also a keen climate change activist, so when it came to designing her home, sustainability was key. Valletta enlisted friend and interior designer Ross Cassidy to help design a stylish yet eco-friendly space. Paint on the walls is replaced by natural clay plaster, and the exterior is clad in light stone that will last for years. Inside, Valletta upholstered the furniture she already owned with sustainable materials and went vintage or artisanal to fill in decor gaps. Full of natural, earthy tones and organic textures, Valletta created the peaceful and sustainable sanctuary she was looking for—"a place where, when you come in from the world, you can exhale.”
Today, AD is welcomed by chef and YouTuber Joshua Weissman to tour his minimalist home in Austin, Texas. It’s often said the kitchen is the heart of the home, and with nearly 9 million subscribers following his gastronomical YouTube content, Weissman’s kitchen doesn’t disappoint. The YouTube star’s knives (his prized possessions) are proudly displayed along magnetized blocks, and Italian Carrara countertops add a luxurious feel. But more important than style is the function of his space. Though maybe not the most beautiful of stoves, Weissman cannot beat the performance of his Wolf. And then there’s Weissman’s cabinets, organized to perfection to save time and thought when he could be cooking up a storm. “The number one thing that’s important about a really great kitchen is not its size or how nice it is; it is about how you organize yourself and how you operate in that kitchen, so that you can actually enjoy the process of cooking,” he says.
Today, AD is welcomed by Emma Roberts to tour her charming Los Angeles home. When The ‘American Horror Story’ star and her son moved into their new home, she enlisted AD100’s Pierce & Ward to work their magic on the space. Roberts was excited at the idea of making her very own grown-up dollhouse and with an extensive doll collection, her home has become just that. Ready for a new chapter in her new home, Roberts couldn’t be happier with how the space turned out. “I have a picture of the day we moved in,” Roberts says, smiling. “I’m holding him and it was the most sunny California day, and we were in front of the blue door of our new house. I just remember feeling like we are exactly where we need to be.”
