On the day Tōma Kamijō and Index see Academy City's space elevator, Endymion in the distance, they meet a Level 0 girl with an amazing singing voice, Arisa Meigo. As the three enjoy their time together after school, magic-user Stiyl Magnus suddenly attacks them. His target: Arisa. Why would a girl from the science side be targeted by someone from the magic side, Tōma wonders. In the chaos of Stiyl's attack, he tells Tōma, Index and Arisa that she might cause a war between the magic side and the science side.

Es ist ein normal verlaufender Tag für Touma und die laufende Bibliothek Index. Index entdeckt Neuartiges, wie den Weltraumaufzug Endymion, und lernt neue Leute kennen. Dabei handelt es sich dieses Mal um die junge Musikerin Arisa. Bald wird klar, dass dieses scheinbar normale Level 0 Mädchen über eine ganz besondere Gabe verfügt, die das Machtverhältnis zwischen Magiern und Espern aus dem Gleichgewicht bringen könnte. Die beiden Seiten könnten in einen Krieg verfallen und nur Touma und Index können diesen abwenden …
Kamijou Touma et Index rencontrent par hasard Arisa Meigo, une jeune fille de niveau 0 qui vient d'arriver à la Cité Scolaire. Mais les magiciens en ont après elle et attaquent la Cité Scolaire. Shattoaura, chef des unités de combat de la cité, fait venir toutes ses unités pour repousser l'envahisseur.
Stiyl Magnus entre dans le combat et ordonne à Touma de tout faire pour protéger la jeune fille car elle est la clé de cette guerre entre la magie et la science.
