건프라 세상의 새로운 인터넷 서비스가 탄생했다. 메타버스 공간으로 유저들은 자신의 분신인 아바타를 움직여, 다른 유저들과의 교류와 건프라 배틀 등을 하며, 실제로 건프라를 구입하는 것도 가능해졌다.
이 새로운 세계로 뛰어든 소년 호조 리오는, 현실 세계에서 우르츠키 세리아로부터 건프라 빌드의 기술을 배우며, 메타버스 세계에서는 마스크 레이디로부터 건프라 배틀의 노하우를 익히며 연마하는 나날을 보내고 있었다.
자신만의 오리지널 건프라 「라 건담」을 완성하게 된 리오는 메타버스 공간에서의 옛 시절 건프라 배틀의 강자들과 만나게 된다.
