宮城県古川駅近くで、高宮進は落ち込んでいた。珍しく仕事でミスをして支社に迷惑をかけてしまったのだ。
重たい足のまま入った道の駅で見つけたのは“ささ結”という初めて聞くお米。かつて横綱と言われるほど人気も、その座を奪われ消えかけていたササニシキを改良して生まれ変わった品種だという。
今宵の酒は “ささ結”から作った酒にしよう。豊かな日本酒の香りに励まされる居酒屋新幹線、そんな日があっても、またいい。
