一次偶然，康小曼夫妇把四岁的儿子丢了。为了找回儿子，夫妇俩不惜倾家荡产，追寻着各种线索，几乎走遍了全国各地。在寻找儿子的过程中，他们发现，在全国各地，丢失孩子的父母之间、急切的寻找家人的孩子中间，已经形成了一个又一个的寻子联盟。然而，由于缺乏信息交汇，致使很多家庭跟孩子失之交臂。康小曼夫妇经过多方联系，建立了名为“宝贝儿回家”的网站。通过社会的呼吁、网站转载和无数志愿者的共同努力，一个个丢失的孩子，重新回到父母身边，那些使孩子和父母天各一方的犯罪分子也得到了应有的法律制裁。
