荆楚是一名年轻有为的刑警，由于屡破大案被调任南星市重案大队副队长，与大队长刘大仁，警员柳如玉，周子升，常雁等人共同工作。荆楚由小卖店杀人案认识了具有超强记忆力的杨绵绵，而杨绵绵似乎又与荆楚父亲多年前的离奇死亡有着千丝万缕的联系。南星市知名博主南宫辰和女子偶像组合成员莎月相继死亡，死因均是过量注射一种药物，而致死药物来源无法查明，这意味着一种未知药物正威胁着人民的生命安全，重案大队的刑警们对相关案件抽丝剥茧，发现了背后更深的阴谋，同时荆楚等办案刑警的生命也受到威胁。尽管前方迷雾重重，但南星市公安刑警不怕牺牲，牢记使命，最终捣毁了源自A国罪恶的违禁药试验基地，解救了一批深受其害的无辜市民。一起谋财害命、生产制造违禁药物的特大案件告破，公安刑警们拼尽全力保护了南星市人民的生命安全
