Rumi continues to study in the nursing school while preparing for the university entrance exams. She works hard, but her mom and family situation doesn't allow it. She and Chinatsu meet Chinatsu's childhood friend, Shunya in a mixer. They go on a getaway together and friendship blooms between them. Meanwhile, Saeki runs into a dilemma between the nursing school and her family.
Chinatsu works very hard on everything as usual while Rumi still hesitates and wonders if she really wants to become a nurse. Hishikawa Takumi shares his thoughts with Rumi, which inspires her a lot. Saeki is still struggling in finding a balance between her family and her pursuit. In the meantime, a strange friendship developed between Rumi and Touno. But despite all these, they make it through the graduation exam and start their hospital internships.
Rumi is assigned to a troublesome patient, Mr. Senda after her rebellious act. While everyone is having an easy time with their patients, Rumi struggles and eventually quarrels with Mr. Senda. After talking to Takumi, Rumi apologizes to Mr. Senda and realizes that there's another side to the grumpy old man. Rumi realize she has feelings for Takumi after seeing him care for Touno when she fainted due to anemia. Meanwhile, Saeki's perfect life is crumbling down.
Mr. Senda asks Rumi to give a letter to someone he hated through his distant relative, Nogi Yuta. After he died, Rumi tries to find the person, Hanafusa Chiyo, herself. She can't find Nogi Yuta and finds out that Hanafusa Chiyo already died, three years ago. She then goes on to find Nogi Yuta in order to give him the letter. Shunya confesses to Rumi, but agrees to be friends for now. Chinatsu tells Rumi not to worry about her in order not to feel conflicted about Shunya. Meanwhile, Hatano realizes that her resentment toward Saeki is due to her own behaviour of forcing herself to work harder.
Rumi gets suspended from her internship because Mr. Senda's family filed a complaint against her because of the letter. Touno complains to the teacher regarding Rumi's suspension. During this time, Rumi sees how her Mom and Dad works hard for her. Chinatsu tries to cheer Rumi up, but starts to feel unbearable seeing Shunya. Meanwhile, Saeki decides to stop her schooling due to personal reasons.
A year into the internship, Rumi meets her gynaecology patient and discovers what she wants to do after the internship. Chinatsu decides to pursue hospice care afterwards because she wants to stay away from Shunya. Meanwhile, Touno finds out who's the doctor who killed her sister.
Only a little more to go before the internship is completed, Rumi and Chinatsu continues to work hard and improve in the process. Meanwhile, Dr. Bansho resigns from the school and also does not return to the hospital. Rumi and Chinatsu face their hardest cases as they struggle to complete their internship.
Rumi and Chinatsu's family try to convince Chinatsu to change her records so that she can graduate nursing school with her. Rumi gives an inspiring speech during graduation. Meanwhile, Dr. Bansho and Touno decides to go to another place to save lives.
