戈碧(汪明荃飾)是一本成功女性生活時尚雜誌的總編輯，為人高傲自信、能幹霸道，做事為求目的不擇手段。對上司無面比；對敵人無手軟；對下屬沒情講，所以樹敵眾多。但亦因為為人堅強硬朗，所以在這大機構中管理眾多人才, 包括下屬高家寶(藤麗名飾)、王仲祥(郭政鴻飾)、李德謹(胡定欣飾)、程志尚(黃長興飾)、劉青山(鄧健泓飾)、Carol(姚瑩瑩飾)等等。而戈碧獨有審美眼光、對生活品味有追求、對市場之觸角敏銳亦是其事業成功之重要因素。戈碧在事業上是個女強人，家中事無大小亦由她決定。
