Pope Francis

Pope Francis was the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church. The first Jesuit and Latin American pope, he became known for his advocacy for the poor, environmental protection, and efforts toward a more inclusive Church. His pontificate (2013–2025) was marked by reforms of the Roman Curia, responses to sexual abuse crises, and promotion of interfaith dialogue. Renowned for his humility and simple lifestyle, he died at the age of 88 from respiratory failure.
