Anthonie Willem Constantijn Gneomar Kamerling was an actor, singer, musician who had originally aspired to be an attorney. He dropped out of law school and became the most popular character, Peter Kelder in the Dutch soap opera Good Times, Bad Times., which led to his starring role in De Kleine Blonde Dood (The Little Blonde Death). Although soap opera actors were considered 'inferior' to other actors, he was nominated for the Goulden Kalf award for best actor, the highest screen award in the Netherlands and equivalent to the Oscar in the United States.
