Vito Catene se souvient. Producteur sans le sou, il n'avait qu'un but: faire tourner Camille Dor, faire réaliser son film, "Zanzibar", par Maréchal. Un metteur en scène difficile, auquel plus personne ne croyait, une "star" à problèmes, droguée. Celle-ci avait accepté, Maréchal aussi. Bien vite, Camille et Vito furent attirés l'un par l'autre. Vito réussit même à obtenir de Camille qu'elle renonce à la drogue. Quant à Maréchal, ses relations avec Camille furent au début très tendues.
