We Are Here is about the impact of war on a country, a people, a community and ultimately a family. These are the stories of five Jews, trying to build a life in Poland after the downfall of Communism. Can we progress from a country containing the unmarked graves of three million, to one which now celebrates life? These five people and their families struggle to find their place as Jews in the new Poland . We Are Here details the conflicts of a new Polish-Jewish identity for the filmmaker, its subjects, Poles today and to the 1000 year history of the Jewish presence in Poland, on the very soil which bore witness to the most horrific atrocities of the 20th Century, the Holocaust.
