Lis Holst passionately wants to become an actress. After failing an entrance exam at a theater, she decides to use other and tougher means. Since the director, together with the theater's author, has been taken to the countryside, Lis joins. Here she performs a masterpiece in disguise. As the truth dawns on the theater director and writer, they decide to take advantage of Lis, as the theatre's prima donna has been given a nod. Lis is promised a lead role in the next performance, but then the prima donna recovers and must have her role back.
