Die patente Marie führt zusammen mit ihrer Mutter Carla und Oma Ruth ein familieneigenes Hotel am Kochelsee. Da Ruth aber befürchtet, dass ihre Enkelin, die lieber Autoreifen wechselt, als sich vor dem Spiegel schön zu machen, irgendwann versauert, schaltet sie in Maries Namen heimlich eine Kontaktanzeige. Ohne ein Foto ihrer hübschen, aber uneitlen Enkelin lässt sich allerdings selbst in Zeiten des Internets niemand verkuppeln. Ruth engagiert den Profifotografen Niklas, dem das Wunder gelingt: Marie ist wachgeküsst.

Widow Ruth Rosinger runs it with her granddaughter Marie, whose mother Carla always gives priority to her own career in painting and admirers, like art professor Peter Blumfeld. Berlin-based international photographer Niklas Steinke is hired for a publicity campaign, but Ruth also hopes to 'sell' gray mouse Marie before age cripples her charm as potential bride. Fellow hotelier Ronald Schönauer is attracted by dating website, but ignored. Marie has an instant secret crush on Niklas, but feels she can't compete with his flirtatious model Sandra.
