An American art dealer, specializing in southwestern topaz, arrives in Liverpool, as does a British dealer in African art. They meet in the hotel restaurant and set off to find a meal. Their search becomes challenging when the Brit reveals he's a vegetarian, leading to a series of conversations as they attempt to find a suitable restaurant.
