Dr. William Jekyll is a brilliant scientist whose revolutionary theories about human evil have earned him much ridicule from colleagues. The determined doctor has invented a serum that recognizes and isolates the violent part of the brain, and he is working on another serum that blocks the need for violence. Jekyll gives the formula for the blocking serum to his assistant, who accidentally destroys it and creates a new formula from memory. Jekyll, thinking he owns both serums, uses himself as a test subject. The wrong serum turns the doctor into Mr. Blood, a sadistic monster.
