Julien Durras, professeur d’université en géologie, vit avec sa femme Isabelle et ses deux enfants. Le quotidien austère de la famille est troublé lorsqu’un séduisant traducteur allemand, Carl-Stephan, s’installe avec eux dans leur propriété de Haute-Provence.
