Deutschland, 1966. Das weltweite Rock′n′Roll-Fieber dringt langsam, aber sicher bis in die teutonische Provinz vor. In Recklinghausen beschließt eine Clique Jugendlicher, Musik zu machen wie ihre Vorbilder: wie die Stones, die Beatles oder die Kinks. Also basteln sich die Jungs eine Musikanlage zusammen und gründen eine Band – die "Heartbreakers".
