民国时期，军阀混战。名将许松平（胡浩 饰）在战斗中失败，做了联军司令陈全光（孙飞虎 饰）的俘虏。许的女儿许越男（岳红 饰）难掩父陷囹圄之辱，决心救父出牢笼。无奈孤女无援，她只有变卖产业，请土匪相助。失败后又把希望寄于本家堂兄，又无果。后又以身相许王庆洪（储智博 饰），原指望王能帮她复仇，谁知数年过去，王庆洪早将此事搁置九霄云外。万念俱灰的许越男离开丈夫，伺机再寻报仇之路。不久，她带着孩子来到业己年迈、且己信佛的陈全光家里，以便接近仇人，寻找下手机会。终于有一天，他摸清了陈全光活动规律，悄悄跟进讲经堂，开枪射杀了仇人......
