חייו של אסף (יונתן בר-אור), נער ביישן וגמלוני, משתנים כאשר לקח על עצמו משימה פשוטה לכאורה, שהתגלתה כמסובכת בהרבה – איתור הבעלים של כלבה עזובה שנמצאה ברחובות ירושלים. במהלך החיפוש, מובל אסף על ידי הכלבה, למפגשים עם דמויות מגוונות, ולמקומות שונים, שבאמצעותם הוא נחשף לסיפורה של תמר (בר בלפר). כחודש לפני שהתחילה משימתו זו של אסף, יצאה תמר, מוזיקאית צעירה, עם כלבתה דינקה, למסע חיפוש ברחובות ירושלים אחר אחיה שי - שנקלע לבעיות - אצל בעל מעון לילדים עם בעיות או ילדים יתומים, ונלכדה בעלילה מסוכנת. אסף, שנדהם מסיפורה של תמר, יוצא בעקבות הנערה שמעולם לא הכיר. הסרט מתקדם בשני צירי זמן – של אסף ושל תמר – במהלך מסעות ההתבגרות של שתי הדמויות, שבסופם יגיעו לגילוי עצמי ולאהבת אמת.

Assaf, un adolescente impiegato temporaneamente alla Protezione animali, ha una (com)missione da compiere: restituire un cane alla sua padrona e recapitare alla stessa una multa di centocinquanta shekel per la negligenza mostrata nella cura dell'animale. Sarà proprio Dinka, un magnifico Labrador color miele a guidare Assaf per le strade di Gerusalemme alla ricerca di Tamar, una ragazzina fuggita da casa con un cane e una chitarra nel tentativo disperato di trovare il fratello tossicodipendente. I loro destini si incroceranno presto e sarà l'ostinata volontà di Assaf a salvare i due fratelli da Pesach, un protettore criminale che sfrutta il talento artistico dei ragazzi di strada, nascondendo sotto le note loschi traffici di droga.

Through the streets of Jerusalem two teenagers' stories will unite to tell the summer adventure of their lives. Tamar is an amazingly talented but very quiet and insecure girl, who leaves behind her home and all she knows, changing herself unrecognizably -from her looks to her attitude- to brace herself for a dangerous mission to help a loved-one. Asaf, a clumsy, naive, and very shy boy working a boring summer job at City Hall, is given quite a mission himself : to take an uncontrollable stray dog from the pound, put it on a leash, and let it lead him back to its owners to be fined. The more stories Asaf hears about this extraordinary girl, the more he falls for her, and as he and Dinkah continue their journey Asaf becomes aware that Tamar is in grave danger.
