His parents separated when he developed leukemia at the age of six. Paul, now ten years old, has lived with his mother Barbara ever since. He barely sees his father Michael, a freelance truck driver. Enough for a child's dream, not enough for everyday life. Now Paul has relapsed and does not want to return to the clinic. He hides in his father's truck, still moving, this time on his way to Spain. The father only discovered his son in France. He actually wants to fire him. But then there is the first real encounter between the two. For the first time, Paul experiences the father in everyday life. He does not tell her about the disease. When he finally learns of the relapse, Michael must make a decision. Either he takes the boy to the nearest hospital, or he fulfills Paul's greatest wish to visit the sea together.
