In a Lausanne, a young addict, after nine months of preventive prison, commits suicide. In his cell, Salvatore thinks of his wife Marie, of his son Simon; he writes, he "fantasizes", he reads a short story about Jack London: Building a fire. He identifies with the hero of this news, he imagines his grandfather at the Feast of the Passion, following the way of the cross of the mourners .
