Story of a group of vaudeville performers who were deprived of everything by the civil war (1936-1939) except hunger. The musician Jorge del Pino, the ventriloquist Enrique Corgo, the cupletista Rocío Moliner, the orphan Miguel and other lost souls form a curious family that tries every day to get ahead with their miseries and joys, with the encouragement of his music and his songs. And in the absence of bread, there are the applause. Between winners and losers, they seek more than an opportunity, something to eat or a place to sleep. But sooner than they know, they are put to the test and have to make difficult decisions.
