In short, he loves his adopted country and thinks he has drawn a line on his origins. But his mother Maria, a widow and diabetic, demands that Areg marry a young girl from Yerevan. His 9-year-old brother Garnik has been learning Armenian for two years with priest Kalust in the hope of one day knowing his native land. For his part, Areg has only one ambition: to become a film director.
