De 19-jarige Belle woont in een klein dorp en terwijl iedereen geobsedeerd is door seks, is haar ultieme passie vioolspelen. Het is haar droom om aan het conservatorium te studeren. Technisch is Belle uitstekend, maar ze heeft problemen gevoel in haar muziek te leggen. Toch wil ze haar droom najagen en ze besluit naar de grote stad te verhuizen. Daar leert ze dat haar oorlel supergevoelig is.
