Fantasy based on Oscar Wilde's fairy tales. It is an attempt to investigate such themes as devotion, self-sacrifice, conflict between fantasy and reality which are shown by means of a documentary and at the end are entwined with a true Wilde's story. The time of great illusions is gone. The current reality is free of Utopian ideas, there is no place for escapism, flight from reality in it. Nevertheless, there are people thinking that their second imagined life is much more important and true than that they were destined to live by nature. These are people practicing BDSM (Bondage - Domination - Sado-Masohism), creating an image of another world which only they can see. The games which the characters of "The Birthday of the Infanta" (both in Oscar Wilde's fairy tale and in Valeria Gay-Germanica's documentary) play are far from being games, but a true life for them.
