En un desértico campo de concentración al norte de China, los guerrilleros anti-Japoneses son retenidos para ser interrogados, soportando los más crueles tratos, los japoneses torturan y violan a sus mujeres hasta que TATO, su líder, planea su fuga junto con otros seis de sus componentes, aunque no se presenta fácil, pues algunos de ellos están heridos o en malas condiciones para viajar. Pero consiguen escapar siendo acosados y perseguidos por los japoneses.
