It is 1961, two years after the original ''Grease (film)'' ended. The first day of school has arrived ("Alma Mater" from Grease (musical)) as Principal McGee and her secretary Blanche react in horror as the students, among them the new street gang and Pink Ladies, arrive at high school ("Back to School Again"). The Pink Ladies are now led by Stephanie Zinone, who feels she has "outgrown" her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Johnny Nogerelli, the arrogant and rather immature new leader of the T-Birds.
Corre el año 1961, y han pasado ya dos años desde la historia de amor de Sandy y Danny. Ahora comienza un nuevo curso escolar en el instituto Rydell. Rydell Highschool, automne 1961. Fraîchement arrivé d'Angleterre, Michael découvre ses nouveaux camarades et tombe amoureux de Stephanie Zinone, la chef des Pink Lady qui n'a d'yeux que pour les séduisants motards de la bande des T-Birds. Prêt à tout pour plaire à Stephanie, Michael s'achète une grosse cylindrée et devient un pilote émérite. La jeune fille est séduite mais Johnny, le chef des T-Birds, est bien décidé à mettre fin à cette idylle.
