Anna Bronsky ist Geigenlehrerin am Konservatorium. Gegen den Rat ihrer Kollegen erzwingt sie die Aufnahme eines Schülers, in dem sie ein großes Talent sieht. Mit viel Engagement bereitet sie Alexander auf die Prüfung zum Jahresende vor und vernachlässigt ihren kleinen Sohn Jonas, der auch Geiger und Eishockeyfan ist. Beim Anflug des Vorsprechens drängt Anna Alexander zu immer außergewöhnlicheren Darbietungen.
