Mississippi, années 30, Théodore, jeune noir élevé par sa mère n’a qu’un désir : devenir chanteur de blues. Il s’embarque donc clandestinement pour Memphis afin de réaliser son rêve.

Mississippi, 1930's: Theodore, a black teen raised by his single mother has but one desire - to become a respected blues singer with the help of his Uncle Eddie. He secretly takes a train to Chicago in order to make his dream come true.
